Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Date IQ mobile app ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use it. We aim to be transparent about every byte of data that leaves your device. If anything is unclear, contact us at [email protected].

1. At-a-glance summary

• You use Date IQ anonymously. We do not require your name, email, phone or any registration.
• We send the chat screenshots and short text notes you upload to a third-party AI service (Eachlabs / OpenAI GPT-4o) to generate suggestions. We ask for your explicit consent in-app before doing this.
• We never sell your data. We never use your data to train any AI model.
• You can delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete my account. All your data is removed immediately.

2. Your account

When you first launch the App, we automatically create an anonymous account via our backend (Supabase). This account is identified only by a randomly-generated UUID. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or any social media identifier.

You may optionally subscribe to a premium plan or buy credit packs through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we receive only the subscription/purchase status (not your card details).

4. How we use data

• Generate AI replies, ghost-mode strategies and profile suggestions for you.
• Show you your past analyses in the History tab.
• Manage your credits and subscription status.
• Measure app performance and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns (only with ATT consent).
• Prevent abuse, detect fraudulent purchases, debug crashes.

We never sell, rent or trade your data. We never use your data for unrelated purposes (no ad personalization based on your chat content, no email marketing because we don't have your email).

5. Third-party AI processing

5.1 What data is sent

• The chat screenshot you uploaded (image bytes).
• The short text description you typed (if any).
• Conversation context: mode, language, who sent the last message, silence gap, the previous reply produced by the model in the same session (only when relevant for follow-up generation).

5.3 How long do they keep it

• Eachlabs may retain inference payloads for up to 30 days for service quality, abuse prevention and debugging.
• OpenAI does not use API-submitted content to train its models, per their published API data usage policy. They may retain the data for up to 30 days for security review.

5.4 Equivalent protection

Both Eachlabs and OpenAI are bound by data-processing terms that provide protection equivalent to the safeguards described in this Policy. We do not share user-generated content with any other AI service or data broker.

5.5 Your consent

The first time you try to upload a screenshot or send a message in the App, an in-app dialog will explicitly disclose what is sent, who receives it, why and for how long. You must tap I Accept to continue. If you tap Not now, no AI features will run and nothing will leave your device. You can revoke consent later by deleting your account.

7. Tracking & App Tracking Transparency

On iOS we use Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. Before any tracking-related data is collected, the App shows the system prompt asking your permission. The wording is: "We need your permission to measure the performance of our ads and campaigns and show you more relevant content."

• If you tap Allow, the Adjust SDK may receive your IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers).
• If you tap Ask App Not to Track, no tracking identifiers are collected. The App still works in full.

You can change your decision later from iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

8. Retention & deletion

• While you use the App: we retain your conversations, screenshots and credit ledger in our backend so that the History tab and your balance work correctly.
• When you delete your account (Profile > Delete my account):
  • Your auth.users record is removed.
  • All conversations and chat messages are cascade-deleted.
  • All screenshots in your private storage folder are removed.
  • All credit and refund ledgers tied to your user id are removed.
  • The deletion is immediate and irreversible. The App returns to a fresh anonymous state on next launch.
• Note: deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple/Google subscription. You must cancel that separately from your Apple ID / Google Play account.
• Subprocessors (Eachlabs, OpenAI) may retain inference payloads for up to 30 days as described above; we cannot manually purge their copies, but neither retains data linked to a specific identity once your account is deleted.

9. Security

• All traffic between the App and our backend is encrypted with TLS 1.2+.
• Database rows enforce row-level security so each user can only access their own conversations and credits.
• Storage objects are stored in user-keyed folders; access is restricted via signed paths and RLS.
• Edge functions verify the user's JWT before any operation.
• No employee has direct access to user-uploaded screenshots in the normal course of operation.

10. Your rights

• Access & portability: the App's UI shows you everything we have (conversations, history, credits). For a machine-readable export, contact us.
• Deletion: Profile > Delete my account. One tap, instant.
• Withdraw AI consent: deleting your account also revokes your AI processing consent. There is no separate "disable AI" toggle because the App's only meaningful feature uses AI.
• Restore purchases: Profile > Restore purchases — pulls your subscription status back from Apple.
• EU/UK users: you also have rights under GDPR (rectification, restriction, objection, lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority). Contact us to exercise them.
• California users: under CCPA you have similar rights. We do not "sell" personal data in the CCPA sense.

11. Children

Date IQ is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a minor has used the App, contact us and we will delete the relevant data.

12. International transfers

The App's backend (Supabase) is hosted in the EU. The AI service may process data outside your country (e.g. United States). By using the App and accepting the in-app AI consent, you authorize the necessary transfers. All transfers rely on the data-processing terms of the recipients listed in Section 5.

13. Changes to this Policy

If we change this Policy materially we will update the "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, notify you in-app. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
